Monterey WMD Terrorism Database Privacy Policy

All personal information collected by the Center for Nonproliferation Studies (at the Monterey Institute of International Studies) for the Monterey WMD Terrorism Databases is expressly for administration and user authentication purposes only.

Following initial registration, this site may be accessed without providing any additional information, unless other services are required by the User. The Center for Nonproliferation Studies takes the privacy of personal information very seriously and will use this information only in accordance with the terms specified within the context of this Privacy Policy. Information which is collected during inquiries and directly relevant to users will not be sold or disseminated to any third parties. The only institution expressly authorized to view information acquired during site usage is the U.S. federal government.

Certain types of information are automatically logged during inquiries. This information is utilized for system administration, tracking of system discrepancies, as well as statistical purposes only and may be retained for an indefinite period of time.

Access to the User's uniquely identifiable information is restricted to the Director of Information Technology and the Database Manager, in order to provide products and/or services deemed necessary to the User.

This policy is subject to revision as suggestions from Users are incorporated or new features are added to the database. In the event individually identifiable information will, for any reason not stated above, be disclosed in a manner materially different from that stated at the time said information is collected, the User will have the option of choosing whether or not said information can henceforth be disclosed.

Unauthorized attempts to modify any information stored on this system, to upload information, defeat or circumvent security features, or to utilize this system in a manner other than its intended purposes are strictly prohibited and may result in criminal prosecution.

Upon accepting this Privacy Policy and User Agreement during initial registration, consent is hereby given to the use and disclosure of User information in the manner described within the foregoing context of this Privacy Policy.
